Rob Thornber

I was born and raised in New Westminster, British Columbia.  I moved to Orcas in 1977 with my wife and son.  Our first 16 years on the island were spent at Four Winds summer camp where I was involved in all aspects of maintenance. I have always enjoyed working with wood and began wood turning in 1993.  I’m intrigued by what evolves from each piece of wood.  My goal is for the bowl form to highlight the natural beauty and character of the wood.  For the past several years I have been working exclusively with Madrona.
