During those years she had a pet Samoyed. The combings from her furry white dog were saved for twenty four years in hopes of someday spinning the hair into yarn to make a sweater.
Maureen moved to Orcas Island in 1982 where she and her husband John developed “Little Bit Farm” near Obstruction Pass. The people
of the island were kind and helpful, and taught Maureen how to spin. She has
been spinning ever since and loves it!
