April Pollock

It was 1990 and I was 26 years old. Martha Stewart’s “Living” magazine just hit the grocery stores. In one of her first issues, I saw a rusted old can, wired up pretty crudely and hanging off an old screen door with a rusty old door knob. In this can were white Lilies of the Valley. The chartreuse leaves and the white bell flowers spilled over the can inviting all to enter into the old farm house. It was this photo that made me begin my craft.

Hi, my name is April Pollock and I’m a mom. I’ve been creating vessels for over 20 years now as a hobby, making gifts and special orders from time to time. Now living on Orcas Island, I have a way to share my things through this wonderful co-op and it pleases me to be apart it.

My background is Professional Development in Education, Interior Design, a CAD engineer and a space planner for Steelcase. I now work out of my office at home working for a NY based company in continuing education. My favorite things are being a mom, traveling with my surfboard, riding to the top of Mt. Constitution and winning at my favorite game – racquetball.
